YMCA Annual Campaign Season is Here!

Campaign season has officially begun at the YMCA! For those who may not be familiar, the YMCA’s Annual Campaign is a fundraising effort that helps provide financial assistance to families in need, ensuring that everyone has access to programs like swim team, swim lessons, and other fitness activities. Your support directly impacts our community and helps keep our programs thriving!

We are excited to be hosting three events as part of our campaign efforts:

1. Annual Swim Team Swim-a-Thon – March 6th

we will be hosting our Annual Swim-A-Thon on March 6th from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. This fun and impactful event will give swimmers the opportunity to contribute to our cause while challenging themselves in the pool.

Following the Swim-A-Thon, we will celebrate our success with a Victory Celebration from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, where swimmers can enjoy a fun-filled evening. Parents are welcome to help organize the Victory Celebration.

We are using Classy as our online platform for accepting donations. You can access our team page here:

Swim Team Fundraiser

Through Classy, you can easily receive donations. In addition to online donations, we also accept cash and check donations, which you can bring directly to our head coach Carlo.

2. Member Swim-a-Thon – March 8th

Want to participate yourself or as a family? Our Member Swim-A-Thon is the perfect opportunity! This event is open to all members who want to challenge themselves in the pool while helping a great cause. Whether you’re a lap swimmer or just want to participate for fun, everyone is welcome to join!

The event will run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the South Bay Family YMCA. Swimmers can jump in the pool and swim as many laps as they can while supporting the Annual Campaign. Accept the Swim-A-Thon Challenge and set a new personal record!

Sign up on our donation page with “Swim-A-Thon for Members” in the comments and commit to pledge a flat amount or an amount per lap. Choose a time that works for you and sign up to swim today!

  • Morning Session: 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Evening Session: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

3. Sprint Triathlon – March 9th

Our Sprint Triathlon is open to all skill levels! Participants will complete a swim, bike, and run, either individually or as part of a team. This is a great way to challenge yourself while supporting our campaign. The first heat will start at 6:30 AM, with a suggested donation of $25 per individual or $75 per team.

There will be six heats:

  • Expert Individual
  • Intermediate Individual

Practice Reminders – Bring Your Gear!

It is very important that swimmers arrive at practice with all their required equipment. Each swimmer should bring:

  • Goggles
  • Swim Cap
  • Water Bottle
  • Fins
  • Towels

We are currently running low on loaner equipment, so it is crucial that swimmers bring their own properly fitting gear. Having the right equipment ensures that swimmers can practice effectively and safely. If you need fins, Amazon has some great options for as low as $10: Click Here. Please make sure your child has the right gear that fit well so they can get the most out of their training sessions.

Thank you for your cooperation and support!

If you have any questions or concerns don't be afraid to reach out.
