September Newsletter
What a fantastic month it has been! We are thrilled to announce that our team finished in 5th place overall in the 2024 Summer Rec League. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of all our swimmers, who have shown incredible improvements and dropped time in their respective events. We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of you!
We also want to express our deepest gratitude to all the parents who have supported us throughout the season. Your volunteer efforts, from timing at the meets to ensuring our swimmers are well-fed and hydrated on race days, have been invaluable. Our team is growing rapidly, and we are more excited than ever for what lies ahead.
Silver Team Updates
Starting this fall, our Silver Team will be incorporating dryland practice into our routine. Dryland sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 5:30 PM at the splash pad starting September 9th after times week is over, followed by swimming from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Please remember to bring running shoes for dryland practice. We expect all participants to be respectful and attentive to the coaches' commands, as dryland is a crucial component of our training, especially as we move forward with USA Swimming.
Looking Ahead
We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming fall season and are hoping for a great turnout as our team continues to grow stronger. Attached to this newsletter is the full season calendar for the 2024-25 season. Please note that the schedule is subject to change based on pool availability, and we will notify you of any changes as soon as possible.
Swim Cap Care Tips
In addition to our team updates, we've included a summary of a helpful article on choosing and caring for swim caps. Swim caps are essential for reducing drag, keeping hair in place, and fostering team unity. Understanding the different materials and proper care techniques can significantly extend the life of your swim caps.
- Latex Caps: Affordable and flexible, but less durable and prone to tearing. Ideal for swimmers without latex allergies.
- Silicone Caps: Durable, comfortable, and hypoallergenic, but more expensive and less stretchy.
Care Tips:
- Rinse caps with cold waterimmediately after use.
- Pat dry with a soft towel and allow to air dry completely.
- Store caps flat or rolled up in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.
